Void Rising: The Highlands Overhaul & World Boss Debut
The Twilight Highlands are about to undergo a massive transformation. In tomorrow’s update, we’re shifting our focus away from class balance to dive straight into the new world systems, the revamped loot structure, and the arrival of a devastating new foe. Here is everything you need to know about the changes coming to the Highlands.
1. The Arrival of the Voice of the Eclipse
The centerpiece of this update is the debut of the new World Boss: Voice of the Eclipse. Located in the heart of the Highlands, this encounter is now your primary source for high-end progression. Defeating the boss guarantees a significant stack of Twilight’s Blade Insignia and offers a chance at Item Level 121+ gear (Champion 1/8) and rare, Void-themed transmogs.
2. Optimized Rare Rotation
Hunting the 18 specific rares required for the Two Minutes to Midnight achievement is becoming much more efficient. To keep the action moving, respawn timers have been slashed to just 5 minutes. Furthermore, a new “Smart Loot” system ensures that these bosses prioritize equipment drops your character can actually use, with the overall drop rate for gear being tripled.
3. Token Economy & Vendor Price Cuts
The economy of the Highlands has been completely rebalanced to respect your time.
Higher Yield: Rare mobs now drop 2-3 Insignias per kill (up from 1).
Price Slash: Vendor prices for gear have been cut by 50%. You can now pick up equipment for only 20 Insignias instead of the previous 40.
4. Start Collecting: Housing & Decor
In preparation for the upcoming Housing system in Midnight, the world is now scattered with collectible furniture and trophies. Various bosses now have a chance to drop unique decor items, such as the Skyreach Circular Table. Additionally, the event vendor now stocks exclusive Void-themed objects and statues to give your future home that dark, ethereal aesthetic.
5. Fresh Cycles and Catch-up Gear
To round out the update, World Quests will now refresh every 12 hours, providing more opportunities to farm currency. If you are playing on an alt, be sure to visit the armor vendor at /way 49.6 81.2 to quickly boost your gear to the new baseline and join the fight immediately.
